Private sales are a minefield. Without experience, you're walking in blind. From dodgy sellers to wound-back odometers, patched repair jobs or just simple mistakes â I've seen it all.
Most buyers pay thousands more than they should because they don't know the true market value or how to negotiate. You make money when you buy â most people lose it.
"Needs a tune." "Needs a service." "Engine light doesn't affect anything." These are red flags that cost people thousands. Sellers hide issues and hope you won't notice.
You don't know what questions to ask, what to look for, or when to walk away â costing you thousands and stress. Sellers can smell uncertainty.
You find the cars. I qualify them, inspect them, and negotiate them. You save thousands.
Tell Mac what you're after or fill out the form with your criteria â budget, preferences, must-haves, deal-breakers.
I hunt through your options, qualify potential deals, then view and inspect in person. You get a comprehensive report on mechanical, interior, and cosmetic condition â plus where the car sits in the market and what I believe it's actually worth.
Armed with real information, I negotiate hard on your behalf. Everything is filmed and documented. You get the car at a price you couldn't have gotten yourself.
Unlike other PPI services that charge $300+ for a single inspection with little context â I give you the full picture.
Covers up to 5 inspections to find your deal
Most mechanics do a basic inspection and hand you a list. They've never worked on cars outside of a dealership, let alone a car from the '70s, '80s, or '90s. They don't know the true cost to restore a car, or what's actually a must-do versus a nice-to-do.
I give you context.
âĸ Comprehensive report on mechanical, interior, and cosmetic condition
âĸ Where the car sits in the current market
âĸ What I believe the car is actually worth
âĸ What needs doing now vs. what can wait
âĸ Everything filmed and documented
I've worked with cars worth $500 through to $150k+ through to full projects â classic Mustangs, Lamborghini Countaches. Whether I'm buying for myself or helping trace a car's history for a client, my principles and skillset apply.
Once we find your car, I negotiate on your behalf. We split the savings 50/50 beyond the base fee.
I treat your money like it's my own.
Don't take my word for it. Here's what people are saying.
"Dave helped me buy a Hiace campervan and a Subaru Forester. Saved me $8,000 across both deals."
"I've done over 100 deals with Dave. We're talking well into six figures saved over the years."
"Bought my R33 Skyline through Dave. Flawless experience from start to finish."
"Dave's helped me with every car I've owned. It's the integrity that sets him apart."
"Needed a business van. Dave negotiated 30% off the listing price. Paid for his service ten times over."
"Got my Z32 through Dave. Easy process, great communication, found problems the seller forgot to mention."
I've mastered my craft by buying, fixing, restoring, and putting my own money on the line for over 1,500 cars since I was 17 years old.
I've owned everything from a Toyota Corolla through to a Porsche 911 Turbo. 1960s Mercedes to BMW M3s. $500 runabouts to $150k+ collectibles to full restoration projects. I've also helped clients trace history and verify cars like classic Mustangs and Lamborghini Countaches. It doesn't matter the car â my principles and skillset apply.
I've built a brilliant life for myself in cars. But along the way, I've seen how even the people I've dealt with have lost money â because they paid too much when they bought. I've bought cars from people who overpaid by thousands, and it kills me knowing they didn't have to.
I have a huge network both domestically and internationally. After we find your car, I can help with logistics, roadworthies, detailing, mechanical work â whatever you need to get it sorted.
I started with nothing and had to make every dollar count. I treat your money like it's my own.
Everything I do is filmed and documented. I work as a consultant â fully aligned with your interests. Now I want to give back through this service.
In the rare event we don't find the right car after 5 inspections, we work out an extra per-inspection fee from there. I'll be upfront about it and we'll figure out what makes sense for your situation.
The $399 covers my time, travel, and expertise for up to 5 inspections. It ensures you're serious and I can dedicate real effort to finding you the right car. I don't take tyre-kickers â and you don't want to compete with them for my attention.
I'm based in Brisbane and mainly service South East Queensland in person. But I can also work virtually anywhere in Australia â or the world â through my trusted network. We'll figure out what works best for your situation.
My specialty is private sales where negotiation makes the biggest difference. Dealers have less room to move, but I can still help you understand if a dealer price is fair and what to look out for. Private sales are where I really shine though.
Even better. Send me the listing and I'll analyse it, inspect it, give you a full report, and handle the negotiation. Some of my best results come from cars clients have already found â they just needed someone to close the deal properly.
Depends on what you're after and how picky you are (which is fine â you should be picky). Sometimes I find the right car in days. For rarer vehicles or very specific criteria, it might take a few weeks. I'll keep you updated throughout and never rush you into a bad decision.
Most PPI services charge $300+ for a single inspection and give you a checklist. They've never worked on cars outside of a dealership, let alone a car from the '70s, '80s, or '90s. They don't know the real cost to fix things or what's a must-do versus a nice-to-do. I give you context, market position, real value â and then I negotiate for you. My incentive is 100% aligned with yours.
